| I packed really carefully this year for camp. Which was probably a good thing - I'm bringing twelve pairs of shoes, about eight or so skirts and probably somewhere in the range of twenty-five t-shirts. I have about four pairs of jeans, two pairs of sweatpants, three sweatshirts and a jacket. It's a little insane. But every year I've wished I had more choices, more clothes. And this year I've done it. The duffels are bulging and I have no earthly idea how I'm going to get the large one down the stairs, but it's done and they're zipped.
It's weird going back as a counselor. I know some people going in, a few people I went to camp with, but it's not like it used to be. I don't really know what to expect. I'm a little bit nervous, a lot excited and mostly just looking foward to a week from now when we're getting ready for the kids to come.
I missed camp a lot last year when I saw my sister off at the bus stop. I really wanted to go with her. And now I will. So that's good.

| It was absolutely ridiculous:
Period 1 - Gossip with K-Bot and Ms. Shay. Accidentally interrupt Aaron's exam. Gossip more. Look at prom pictures. Period 2 - Talk with Leonard the entire period: read a National Geographic from 1953, explain the music on my iPod. Period 3 - Hang out in the SGA office. Watch Fiona play computer games. Help with Text Twist. Period 4 - Listen to classmates' creative work. Feel slightly disturbed by the amount of terror and clone-baby-attacks in their stories. Period 5 - Gossip more with K-Bot, mostly about different people. Period 6 - Play French computer games; try to find more and fail. Realize that it is difficult to find French computer games online. Period 7 - Play normal computer games. Realize how wonderful it is that my math room has about 15 computers. Get frustrated by computer's lack of flash.
Monumental? No. But I'm pleased that it's over.

| If I was a braver person, perhaps, I would have walked into her office and screamed something. "Why do you hate me?" perhaps, or some equally stunning blow. And then I would have marched out of there with my head held high, imagining her shocked face behind me.
But I am not a braver person. And I walked in there to ask for the keys without any violent outburst. But when she thanked me for returning them, I did not say "You're welcome."
I showed her, right? | | |
| "...by June 22 France sued for peace and an armistice was signed. Hitler danced with glee."
Thank you, R. R. Palmer. | | |
| Is it bad that I'm not terrified of the History Orals? I'm a little nervous, but really? I could talk about Herzl and Zionism for hours. I know I'm going to interject totally random and useless facts (like Herzl's family moved to Vienna after his sister, Pauline, died) just because I know them. Or worse - I'm going to say "Hitler" instead of "Herzl" which I have been doing since the IAs began, for some strange reason. I just think that would be extremely awkward on the tape. Wow. Yeah, bad.
I've got a lil cold. Lemon Zinger helps a lot but unfortunately, there is no Lemon Zinger spout in the middle of the school that magically refills my cup with freshly brewed tea whenever I need it. Wouldn't that be cool?
Tomorrow will be cold. That's nice.
